COSS Abstract Submission

COSS Registration and Abstract Requirements

Registration: Each student presenter must complete a brief COSS registration form by the submission deadline of 13 March 2024. Mentors do not need to register.

Abstracts: Only one student on each project should submit the abstract. 

Submitted abstracts should be informative and must include the following information within 250 words: 1) significance, framework, or problem that the topic addresses, 2) thesis, argument, or hypothesis, 3) brief research process or methods, and 4) product, results, or anticipated results.

Who can present at COSS?

All students are invited to submit an abstract to COSS! Any mentored research or creative scholarship conducted by Concordia students is eligible for presentation. This includes projects conducted for classes, internships, co-curricular projects, etc. Whether you are new to research or very experienced, COSS is for you!

What type of presentations are given at COSS?

COSS features a variety of presentation formats. Read about the options ahead of time so you know which one you will select when submitting. 

Presenters have the opportunity to enter the COSS competition. Read more about this option before submitting.

Can I give more than one presentation?

Yes, students may submit abstracts for multiple projects. Each presentation will be given only once on COSS day. 

How will I know if I am accepted?

The COSS committee will review abstracts and let submitting authors know by 27 March whether their abstract has been accepted for presentation at COSS.
