COSS Concise Schedule – 2021

An annual undergraduate research and creative scholarship symposium at Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota featuring presentations from students of all disciplines.

Preview the COSS presentations from the URSCA CordMN YouTube channel:

COSS Welcome: Learn about COSS and how to navigate the Gather Town space.

Student Presentations: Oral presentations of posters and all concurrent session formats are organized into playlists based on related areas of research and creative scholarship.

Awards: Recipients of the Exemplary Library Research awards, the President Pamela M. Jolicoeur Endowed Memorial Scholarship, and the Mentor of the Year award will be announced at 3:45pm via the YouTube channel.

Sunday – Tuesday, April 11-13

Pop into Gather during “office hours” to preview the Gather Town interactive virtual platform we will be using for COSS. Create your avatar, walk around the space, and ask questions of the COSS team. Watch the welcome video for a demonstration. You can also download an instruction document for attendees and one for presenters. Use coss2021 to enter Gather. Be sure to use Chrome or Firefox for best Gather performance.

COSS DAY!

Wednesday, April 14

Classes, practices, and rehearsals are suspended during COSS so that all can participate.

Each presentation will be assigned to only one interactive session; however, posters and concurrent session titles will be viewable throughout the day. All presentations will be viewable through the YouTube channel.

Additional time for the community to preview Gather Town and presentations on the URSCA CordMN YouTube channel

9:00-9:30 am: Networking/social time on Gather Town

9:30-10:30 am: Poster Session 1 – Similar to an in-person event, visitors will be able to walk from poster to poster to speak with presenters and view their work. Presenters and visitors can zoom their view of posters for better visibility.  

10:45-11:45 am: Concurrent Session 1 – Unlike an in-person event, this session will focus on the Q&A and discussion portion of each presentation. Visitors are encouraged to preview concurrent session talks prior to the event via the YouTube channel. There is one panel discussions (C01) during this concurrent session. Panels allow for a longer, more in-depth conversation on the presentation topic. Attendees will be able to join the panel discussion through the Gather room listed in the concurrent session schedule.

12:00 – 1:15 pm: Department/Program sessions and lunch break.

1:30 – 2:30 pm: Concurrent Session 2 – Same format as Concurrent Session 1 (but different presenters). There are two panel discussions (C38, C39) during this concurrent session. Panels allow for a longer, more in-depth conversation on the
presentation topic. Attendees will be able to join the panel discussion
through the Gather room listed in the concurrent session schedule.

2:45 – 3:45 pm: Poster Session 2 – Same format as Poster Session 1 (but different presenters)

3:45 pm: Awards posted on YouTube!
